2009 – 2010 Fort Saskatchewan NYI Annual Report

This past year has been an interesting and fun year overall. I greatly appreciate all the hard work and effort that Meghan McDougall did to keep the youth entertained, as well as focused on our Lord.

We tweaked the scheduling in the fall, so that youth group always met on Friday nights. We alternated weeks between Church activities led by Meghan, and a youth outreach gym nights at the DCC led by myself. This was well received by not only the youth, but many of their parents.

The number of youth who participated in the activities this past year has been all over the place. One week we have the strong core group of six, the next up to eighteen youth stopping by. This year we decided to concentrate on drawing the outreach youth more into the church activities. As an incentive, any of the youth that attended 3 of the church functions would be able to participate in the year end activity of paint ball with aide from the Youth Group funds. Did I mention that a Sundae Sunday is coming up the last week of May to assist in raising funds for this? So far a total of nine youth have qualified.

Lastly I just want to mention the different activities the youth have participated in:


o Floor Hockey

o Dodge Ball

o Badminton

o Movie Night at the Evans

o NAZ Party

o Games Night at the McDougall’s

o Capture the Flag

o Mission Impossible (Dark)

o Newspaper Rug Hockey

o Nerf Wars AND
NERFAGEDDON
